GRAHAM's History. George Graham was born in Kirklinton, Cumberland, on July 7, 1673. In 1688, he became a trainee watchmaker to master Henry Aske, and in 1695 he entered the service of master watchmaker Thomas Tompion. At the same time he was admitted to the Company of Clockmakers. Graham was taught by some skilful masters including John Bird, John Shelton, and Thomas Mudge.
